Inspiration: Modern Moroccan

Inspiration

I avidly read Est Magazine online decor magazine each week; this week I really liked designer, Cassandra Karinsky from Kulchi who has styled the images below

I like her fresh approach to Moroccan design, bringing in on trend graphic colour combinations of black and white, and then softening them with long flowing muslin curtains and fabrics/accessories in soft feminine colours.

Inspiration: Outdoor Bathrooms

Inspiration

There is nothing like an outdoor shower or bath...I often to think about how an outdoor bathroom or shower can work in a beautiful beach lodge or in the dust of the African bush.
Below are some varying designs of creating a place to feel at one with nature!

Dreamy - a clever 'virtually in the sea' approach for a beach lodge

For the naturist in all of us - simple and needing no more decoration
For a more 'civilized' outdoor bathroom - adding glamour bringing in indoor features outside - with patterned tiles and mirrors

The modernist outdoor bathroom - perfect for the urban house, modern navy in colour but with a strong draw back to nature with the wooden stools

Inspiration: Simplicity, Texture & Colour

Inspiration

I really like these images taken from photographer, Pia Ulin.
I am drawn to the simplicity of the spaces she photographs - uncluttered colour palettes consisting of 1 or 2 colours in bold but neutral tones contrasted beautifully with texture in the form of tiles or exposed brickwork to simple.  This allows you to really notice the smaller elements - a single picture on a textured wall, an exposed lightbulb, a chair or some bold greenery.
